Brief Answer:
Check the dose of tylenol

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on HCM platform..

Most common cause of fever in this age is some viral infection . Teething is just a coincidence as it has no relation with the fever.

Fever may be only manifestation initially and other symptoms like cough/cold or loose stool may appear after one to two days.

Paracetamol/acetaminophen(Tylenol) is a good choice to bring down the temperature. The dose of paracetamol is 60 mg/kg/day and it can be given at an interval of 4-8 hours in equal divided doses.
The most common cause of poor control of temperature to medication is inadequate dose.

So I request you to check the dose first. If dose is correct you may repeat it at an interval of 4-6 hours.

Do Tepid water sponging as it also helps in bringing down the temperature.

If fever is not responding to Tylenol even if given in adequate dosage and after tepid sponging, Mefenemic acid (dose is 25 mg/kg/day in 3 divided dosage) can be given after consulting your physician. Also watch for appearance of other symptoms and maintain adequate hydration by giving plenty of fluids.

I hope this helps.
I shall be glad to help you out if you have any questions.

Wishing for your baby's good health.
Regards
