Suggest Remedies For Frequent Cough And Pain In The Abdomen
Question: I've had a cold with upper respiratory congestion resulting in a frequent cough for about 10 days. The mucus is clear so I don't think it's an infection (except of course for the "cold"). When I cough, however, if I am sitting I get a sharp pain in my adomen on the right side at about the level of my belly button. Could this be some sort of hernia or a pulled muscle from the cough? Otherwise I'm in very good health
Brief Answer:
Probably pulled muscle from the coughing!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have reviewed your information fully. This is rather suggestive of a pulled muscle and not a hernia. Hernias often present with a bulging makes that gets more noticeable with coughing. I will suggest you cough gently and take tylenol for pain relief.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
