Brief Answer:
Rule out fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Peeling and chipping nails could be due to fungal infection affecting nails. Microscopic evaluation of nail clippings/scrapping will confirm the diagnosis.
Treatment is with oral fluconazole or itraconazaole for 12 weeks. The medication requires a prescription. So please follow up with your primary care provider.
You can also take over the counter Biotin supplements to help strengthen nails.
