drink tons of water
diet is high in fibers
meds : beta blocker, aspirin, vitamins, Lipitor
just got off Zoloft 2 weeks ago (could it be w/drawl symptom?)

Hi and thank you for follow up.
With regards to medications, Zoloft has constipation as side effect but not as a withdrawal symptoms.
On the other hands stress caused by stopping Zoloft can cause constipation and aggravate IBS symptoms.
You are asking if it is possible that at age 42 to have colon cancer.
Unfortunately yes, after 40 years of age the risk for cancer is higher. but it is not the first diagnose at your case because you don't have other typical symptoms like weight lose, abdominal pain and stool mixed with blood( not red and fresh blood like you) etc.
As i mentioned earlier at your case stress can cause constipation.
Otherwise to definitely rule out colon cancer please perform colonoscopy.
Hope it was helpful to you!
