Suggest Remedies For Heat Rashes Under The Arms, Between Legs, Chest And Back

Question: my son 49 yrs of age has a heat rash under arns between legs, chest and back what will alleviatte this? he works construction and due to the heat sweats and causes the rash.

I an sorry to hear that your son is having such discomfort from heat and chafing. The best things are antiperspirants to reduce the sweating. Also talcum powder in areas of chafing and wearing undergarments that will help protect his skin. If the chafing is really bad he may need to use a topical steroid cream like hydrocortisone 2-3 times a day. I have found in my practice that wearing sports undergarments help the best to keep the chafing under control.

Can the steroid cream be bought over the coumter?

Yes the steroid cream can be purchased over the counter. If the steroid OTC does not work he may need to call his medical provider for a higher strength steroid cream to control his chafing.
