Brief Answer:
Provide some more information.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,

I have read your query,

160/90 blood pressure is certainly high with medication but I will need some more information about your blood pressure before suggesting any other medication or to increase the dose current medications.

Since how many days you are taking prolomet xl and telma?
Is there any change in your routine?
Any kind of physical exertion or mental tension?
Any other past disease?

Please get back to me with these answers.I will give my opinion after that.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra

For the last four years I am taking the medicine. I was normal with BP,80/125.After taking some pickles which I had avoided for 20years for four days with lunch, I experienced this.No other changes in life style. I am a BP patient for 20years and underwent can during 2000.

Brief Answer:
Amlodipine 5 mg after talking to your regular physician

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the follow-up,

I have read your query,

It is slightly unlikely that by taking prickles, you have experienced high blood pressure but I would still want to rule out it.

For that,I would suggest you to check your blood pressure for couple of more days and avoid taking prickles till then.

You may need to take Amlodipine 5 mg after talking to your regular physician to reduce your blood pressure from 160/90.

If blood pressure reading will still be high even after 2 days, you will need to increase the dose of telmisartan or will require combination anti-hypertensive medication (like amlodipine-temlisartan). Your physician will know about it.
