Suggest Remedies For High Blood Glucose Levels During Pregnancy
Question: Hi, I am 24 weeks pregnant and 1 hour post taking glucose my blood sugar level was 145.2 which is little more than the normal value, my doctor gave me diabetic diet chart to follow to control sugar level. In fasting blood sugar levels are within range. Is there something to be worried about and how it will be affecting my baby post birth.
Brief Answer:
Regular diet control and sugar monitoring
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic
I understand your anxiety about the issue.
Yes you need to follow strict diet plan and of course regular sugar monitoring.
It is common in pregnancy and can be managed easily by diet control and if needed medicines.
You will need to keep a regular antenatal visit to gynecologist and growth scans.
Don't take it lightly.

But is it going to affect my child also ? Can it be cured by following diet ?
Brief Answer:
Hypoglycemia in baby
Detailed Answer:
Your child can have it in later life as he is predisposed to diabetes but immediately after delivery there is a risk of low glucose levels due to high levels of insulin percolated from your blood.
So feed the baby early as soon as after delivery.
All the best
