Suggest Remedies For Itching In The Armpit Post A Breast Cancer Treatment

Question: I am survivor of breast cancer, recently I have been having extreme bouts of itching in my right armpit. What can be causing this? It is definitely not an issue of hygiene. Thank you. xxxxxxxxxxxx.

I understand your concern

Do you have any rash in the armpit?
Are you on any drug?
Do you have any swelling in the armpit?

Your symptoms could be due to allergic reaction to skin (urticaria), dry skin, irritant contact dermatitis(due to detergent, perfumed cosmetics and soap), fungal infection, breast cancer (very rare)
Detail examination by dermatologist will help in the diagnosis.
Take following advice:
Consult your oncologist for breast cancer status.
Take tablet levocetrizine at the bedtime
Avoid deodorant or antiperspirants, fragranced soaps
Wear loose-fitting, breathing clothes to allow the armpits to breathe.
