I had an area on one of my arms a few days ago and out cortisone cream on it and it went away. No fever, sore throat or runny nose. It started a couple days ago. No skin color change. I have had dark colored urine (think thats from prenatal vitamins)
Brief Answer:
Pruritic rash needs following treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,
Thanks for additional updated information.
According to your information, it could be Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy (PUPPP) or Polymorphic Eruption of Pregnancy (PEP). It appears on the abdomen side first and more common in first pregnancy.
It usually appears in 3rd trimester but may be present in 1st trimester also. It has no long-term risk for either the mother or unborn child.
Another thing, physiologically, pregnancy causes change in blood hormone levels, mainly an increase in estrogen and melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH). They are also responsible for itching with rashes in few percentage.
Here, I would like to order complete blood count, blood sugar, Liver Function Test and Serum bile acid level to rule out underlying causes and pinpoint the diagnosis. Review with all tests report.
TREATMENT:
1) Taking an oatmeal or baking soda bath. Apply cold compresses. Wear soft cotton clothes only. Drink more water.
2) Use aloe vera gel or Calamine lotion 10% after you shower. It will help to reduce itching and rash.
3) If itching or rash persists beside above remedy, Hydrocortisone 1% cream and Cetirizine may be needed after consultation with your treating doctor.
Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and successful motherhood.

Brief Answer:
Mostly within 7-10 days.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up query.
Above types of itchy rash may go away within 7 to 10 days with above treatment. However, it may persist throughout the pregnancy period (if physiologic due to raised hormone) and go away soon after delivery of the baby or within 1 week.
You can consult with your treating obstetrician regarding this and procure complete prescription.
Good luck and take care.
