Question: Sir, I was having redness on my penis in winters since september and skin accumulation/swelling in the outer area and due to dryness the outer skin gets teared by itself. Now in summers the redness of penis has become light and there is less skin accumulation/swelling also. There is a feeling of tearing in the outer skin, when I touch or rub the outer skin its like the skin is teared and itches also. When i searched net for this disease, its symptoms are same as of balanitis. Should I apply Itch guard on it or some other ointment as I cant go to doctor for this. Please help me out.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be balanitis, apply Clotrimazole beclomethasone cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
According to your complaints it seems to be balanitis.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply cream containing clotrimazole and beclomethasone on the affected areas twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine 5 mg once daily at night for 2 weeks.
This should resolve your problem.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

Brief Answer:
Yeast infection, hot humid conditions primary cause

Detailed Answer:
Candidiasis is the most common cause of balanitis in young adults but it can occur due to humid and moist conditions of the penile area.
To avoid its recurrence keep the area dry and clean and maintain personal hygiene.
Don't worry as it won't have any affect on your sexual life.
