Suggest Remedies For Kidney Failure

My kidney failed one year back, but I never went on dailysis. I continue to live a normal life. Only recently, I had some drop in HB and calclcium and high phsophoruus. My cretainine for last one year is around 17.
I am quite normal otherwise, but sometimes get urine volume , which falls below one 800ml.
I could manage this as had doses of stem cells.
I was diagnosed with hypertensive nephrsolclerosis in 2005 and my kidneys failes in 2015.
How can I manage further my health and keep my kidneys still running. The kidney fuction last checked was around 3% , but hypertension was under controll with 130/85 and usually hemoglobin is 7, though lately fallen. Medications taken are Ace inhibiitor and Dilzem hydrohloride. and Iron and calclium suppliments. How can I keep my kidneys without dialysis for transplant like this,
ESRD on conservative treatment is not a good idea
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
I appreciate your concerns and your fear of dialysis and transplant.
When the kidney starts to fail lot of functions of the kidney are lost these include
1. removal of waste
2. production of erythropoitin hormone for hemoglobin formation
3. vit D production
Now the toxins which accumulate in the body are of many types. creatinine is only one of them which we use to estimate the kidney function. Now what happens is that these chemicals keep on accumulating in blood and then start depositing in all the body tissues--
In tummy- they cause decrease apatite
In brain they initially cause memory and sleep disturbance
In bones they cause weakness.
As the effect worsens the patient can develop internal bleeding, unconsciousness, pericarditis with heart failure.
Now the catch is that not all patients will have all these side effects, and we can not predict when the patient will have these problems. It all depends on your tolerance and physical capability which varies from person to person. But these problems will ultimately occur and this is the truth.
But any creatinine above 7 mg/dl is actually same and has an equal potential to endanger life.
Stem cell treatment in kidney failure is not a standard clinical treatment. and your reports also don't show any thing encouraging.
I don't want to dishearten you, but i want to strongly recommend hemodialysis and early kidney transplant to you.
Both of which are quite easy and give you 10 to 20 year or even more of meaningful Life.
Best wishes.
May God be with you

As this is Regenerative kidney, I need a doctor, who has experience in regeneration. The ideas given by you are standard and known to me for last many years.
Any kidney, which gives BP of 130.85, makes hemoglboin and balances the elements is partly functional. Yes, the filteration is a problem.
Anyway, thanks and at this time, I am ok, if you can only give me medications for IBS, Irritattable bowel sysndrome , metabolic alkalosis, and control of phosphorous. These are the small issues, which I need to address. As and when I condition detiorates, I will think about dialysis or transplant.
The failure started since 2005, so the body already knows, how to manage the situaation and is doing it right. As for stem cells, the improvement is general in well being and most other reports. It did improve the urine volume and 10 percent
IBS is likely to be uremic
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
'medications for IBS, Irritable bowel syndrome , metabolic alkalosis, and control of phosphorous.'
IBS- in your case is likely to be uremic gastropathy- which requires controlling urea and creatinine levels.
metabolic alkalosis??- i am not too sure you have that - it is more likely to be metabolic acidosis- please share your arterial blood gas (ABG) report which has diagnosed alkalosis.
Phosphorus- interestingly in human body there is only one outlet of phosphorus from the body and that is through the kidney so there is no medication to increase it in the present scenario, but dietary intake of phosphorus also contributes to increase in blood phosphorus. You can use phosphate binders- Sevelemer carbonate tablets three times a day along with your meals and stop eating meat products if you take them. This can bring down the levels a little bit. I am more worried about your calcium which is extremely low. Take calcium supplements as well.
Best wishes

There is no such regenerative medication for kidneys
Detailed Answer:
hi,
kidney is made up of more than 16 types of cells in a complex interplay. At present there is no such regenerative medicine available.
We do have patients walking to our outpatient clinic with serum creatinine ranging from even 22 to 40 and they don't complain of much symptoms. They do face lot of problems subsequently, other things I have discussed earlier.
Best wishes.
