Question: Hi, Ive been diagnosised with Stage 4 Liver Disease Cirrhosis. I have several different things wrong with me like Congestive Heart Disease, diabetes on insulin, XXXXXXX is what caused my Cirrhosis. I have Weber Christian Disease, Granulomas, Occlusion IRCA, on left 70% blockage, CAD, and more. I have already contacted MAYO clinic for transplant, my question is what my prognosis is

Dear Ma'am , I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns.. The survival rate after a liver transplantion surgery is estimated to be five years on average.. However, liver transplantation is a complicated procedure that requires extensive testing to ensure the transplanted liver is a perfect match.. Transplantation surgery generally takes 4 - 10 hours and patients usually stay in the hospital for up to 3 weeks after the surgery. Most patients return to normal or near-normal activities after 6 - 12 months following the transplant. patients need to take immunosuppressive medication to prevent rejection and this shall continue for life..
