Neuropathy is a condition which involves and damages nerves leading to varied manifestations like weakness and thinning of limbs, sensation loss, pain paraesthesia.
The causes are many and detailed investigations are required to treat the cause so as to stop the progression.
After clinical evaluation by a neurologist, Nerve conduction study should be done.
Blood tests like blood sugar, Thyroid profile, vitamin B 12, renal function test, liver function test, immunoelectrophoresis for myeloma, drug and toxins exposure and levels should be evaluated.
Are there any test reports or prescription available?
The drug being given is to reduce the pain and paresthesia associated with neuropathy but it takes around two to three weeks for full benefits.
Other drugs like amitryptiline, nortryptiline are also available but diagnosis is a must.
Please do provide any available reports and prescription.
