Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have nocturnal frequency for urination .
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Have you ever consulted Urologist for clinical assessment ?
2) Have you done any tests to find out the cause for your symptoms ?
3) Do you have other symptoms like frequency for urination ,poor stream,hesitancy or urgency ?
Nocturia at the age of 74 years age is mostly de to Enlarged Prostate and needs to be confirmed .
You need to consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine Routine & Microscpoy and Culture & Sensitivity Examination.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
There is no over the counter drug that you can take to get relief from symptoms .
You need to take Tamsulosin(0.4 mg) once daily for which is available on prescription of a qualified physician.
