Suggest Remedies For Pain In Neck Around The Collar Bone Post An Injury

Question: I got hit on the head with a heavy object and for a couple of days my collarbone area hurt but that went away, now it is just the back of my neck that hurts. This was an injury that happened at work but the workcare doctor just said ice and ibuprofen. He didn't check my range of motion or do an x-ray. My question is should I go see a medical doctor or go to a chiropractor? If I should see a medical doctor should it be a specialist or just a general physician?

You were hit in the head with an heavy object and now you feel pain in the neck after having pain around the collar bone area. This sounds like a muscle related problem and would be best seen by a chiropractor who can help with the neck strain and muscle spasms in your neck. You could also see a medical provider and a general physician would be okay, they would probably start you on muscle relaxant medication and may even order physical therapy.
