Question: My wife is sleeping now, with a mild cold pack on her right foot.
She tripped and twisted her ankle about 5pm, it's now 1am. She put ice on it right away so its not swollen. She can walk on it with a cane but it's painful. She last took 800mg Motrin at 945pm, with a new ice pack wrapped around her ankle.
What else should we do?

Brief Answer:
Rest the ankle as much as possible!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

You have done many things and correctly. In addition, she should avoid putting much weight on this ankle as possible-avoiding all unnecessary movements. if the pain fails to reduce significantly within 48hours, I will suggest that she gets an Xray to evaluate the joint and probably put a cast if any concerns are identified through the Xray.

Thanks and keep me posted with her progress. I wish her a speedy recovery.
