Question: Hi I am having an EMG soon. I have limited motion in my thumb and right index finger. The hand specialist thinks this is the result of the AIN nerve. Also, will rule out Carpal Tunnel. I had to MRIs done and an exray. I cannot make a proper pinch or ok sign. So, while waitin a proper diagnosis is there something I can do.It is hard to type and pick up pens or forks or things of that nature.

Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
First, the tests needed by your description should be ENMG. That's EMG with NCV. It's a nerve test.
Meanwhile, toh can start with a prescription for pregabalin and methylcobalamin.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal

Hi
What dose of the methylcobalamin is therapeutic. I will ask my MD about a prescription for the Lyrica. I see that you are also a Diabetolgist. I am a diabetic so I am sure its all related. My last Hgbaic was 8.3 previously 8.6. I have not kept the diabetes under control. So with better management of my diabetes do you think this will help the neuropathy. Thank you XXXXXXX Young
