Suggest Remedies For Premature Graying

Question: Hi doctor, I'm seeing few of my hair's are turned grey in recent days since I'm working in IT environment..Is there any way to reverse the hair color? I.e., restoring the original black color? what are the precautions and remedies needs to be taken to attain that? Pls advise..

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr. kakkar (dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
You may take an oral calcium pantothenate supplement 200mg once daily (Tab. kerablak) once daily for 6 months. It is known to arrest and sometimes reverse premature greying of hairs. In addition to that you may also start application of melitane (Melnora gel) once daily at night on scalp/ hair roots for 4-6 months

Hi.

Yes. If greying is progressive you may think of taking the oral supplement/ tablet. Though you might find a lot of natural remedies online as well as be tempted to try a few on advice of parents/relatives/friends/neighbours etc but natural remedies have no proven efficacy in arresting or reversing premature greying.
