Suggest Remedies For Rashes On The Arms

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Oct 2017
Question: I have a rash that slowly migrates outward. Appears every few years and lasts for months and months when it does. Always above the knees and from mid-neck downwards. Never on my arms. Can appears in the groin ever, but never on my junk. Migrations ends on my sides and ever moves to my back. Hive like. Not blistery - sort of some small pimples, but not pimples that can be squeezed and mostly hive like. From mild to very itchy.

I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Perhaps it is tinea- fungal infection or one of the kind of annular migratory erythema.
I request you to kindly upload a few images in "Reports section " so that I am able to guide you better.
What was the cream that you tried?

I've attached four pictures. I don't recall the name of the cream. Any cream or baby powder provide temporary relief of the itch, but the hives remain and the itch returns. I've also tried antihistamines, but they don't help. Doctor ruled out scabies.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of a fungal infection infection

Detailed Answer:
Thank you. I have viewed the images though I would have preferred more clearer pictures.

The distribution and clinical history seems to suggest that its probably a fungal infection. I suggest you to use a topical antifungal cream e.g either Clotrimazole 1% cream or Miconazole nitrate 2‰ cream, twice a day for 4 weeks.
Also take an oral antihistamine e.g tab. cetrizine once or twice daily.
Let me know after a few days.
Can upload more pictures if you can get better quality and clarity

Regards
