Posted on Tue, 21 Jun 2016
Question: Suffering from pain in right foot. Seems pain is from gout attack. I have high uric acid and current level is 9.77.
I am having this issue since 7-8 years but now it is reoccurring quite frequently in every 2-3 months.
I take ZYLORIC 100 MG but not continuous. During pains I take DOLO 650 MG and NUCOXIA 60 thrice a day.
Please suggest line of treatment and lifestyle changes required.

Brief Answer:
Fresh Xray of the 1st Hallux

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I think you should get a fresh evaluation of the problem. The Xray of the great toe on right side and compare it with the previous ones.
You may be having an attack and DOLO with NUCOXIA can address the pain issues. But you should not be having frequent attacks every 2 months when you are already on Zyloric which reduces the uric acid formation.
I think the Rheumatologist has to evaluate the problem fresh and think of other problems that might be hidden like Osteoarthritis of the great toe.
Also during an gout attack entire right foot does not pain. There would be redness, swelling and raised ESR. Please get ESR blood test done today it costs you less than 100 bucks.
Wish you good health.
