I have never had knee pain in the past. I did fall about a week before my knee popped!
Brief Answer:
You need to get MRI of the knee
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and there is chances that you may have injured your knee cartilage. This can cause popping sound. I would suggest you following.
1.Get MRI of the knee joint as simple x ray can not diagnose cartilage injury.
2.Most probably it is due to fall. Twisting knee can also cause this. Some time mode of injury is so trivial that you may almost missed this.
3.void squatting, sitting cross leg or stairs.
4.You can take tablet Advil or Brufne for pain relief.
5.Using knee cap is also helps.
You can share your MRi knee report with me. I will try my best to help you.
thanks
