Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that the veins get more full while you are performing physical activity. While the arteries begin to pound harder. This happens during anxiety too. It is quite a normal physiological reaction.

Nevertheless, if the problem persists, I recommend consulting with your doctor for a physical examination and performing some tests:

- a resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound to examine your cardiac function and structure
- a Doppler ultrasound of the neck vessels to examine the blood flow in them
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count for anemia, thyroid hormone levels and blood electrolytes) to exclude other metabolic causes which could trigger these symptoms.

If all the above tests result normal, you have nothing to worry about!

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
