Question: Good evening, my name is Yasmany Gil, I was diagnosed with asthma when I was 8 month old, I had recurrent crisis in my childhood. When I turned 16 year old started lifting weight and running, my asthma lessen, and even I had no symptoms for years without any treatment. A couple of months ago, I started feeling short of breath and upon auscultation of the lungs, wheezing was heard, most of the time in the left lung. A chest X-Ray was ordered and the result showed no active pulmonary disease, no mases or fluid, no suspicious bonny prominence mediastinum intact. I started treatment with the medications described above. As I described I had no symptoms without treatment for years, everything started 4 month ago after a flu shot required for my job. After that like the 2nd day after I felt general malaise, and like a throat discomfort. I had chronic bronchitis for 2 weeks after that were I was really congested. Bronchitis when away, but now I have occasional wheezing sometimes cleared by coughing, and shortness of breath. I stopped working out and kind of eating healthy too due to College, work and a little bit of time only. I gained 30 pounds that I lost recently.I am intrigued by how out of the sudden I started having asthma symptoms again, and if my life style from healthy to unhealthy or the flu shot had something to do with it? Also if you think my treatment is effective or not since I am having occasional wheezing upon auscultation, what can I do?

Thank you doctor. I will speak with my PCP and ask him about budesonide and the pulmonary function test. I started exercising again and lost 20 pounds, also eating healthy like before, more green leafy vegetables that I have understood helps to detoxify substances that produce inflammation. Is there anything else natural or some exercises that I can do to lessen asthma? Again thank you.
