Question : I feel down 12 stairs hit my head and was unconcious for a couple of minutes yesterday. Im sore today but no dizziness etc. do i need to get checkec out.

You should get examined from a neurosurgeon and undergo X-ray skull and/or MRI head. An episode of unconsciousness for some time after head injury indicates that there could be rupture of blood vessel inside the skull, particularly middle meningeal artery. Do not ignore and rush to the neurosurgeon ASAP.
Please Thank me if satisfied.

What type of symptoms would i look for if there were to be a blood vessel rupture. Is there a window where it would cause symptoms or could it happen months from now

                                    Brief Answer:
Pain in head
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Usually after intracranial haemorrhage, there is sever headache, the pupils are unequal in size and later some seizures may start. Subsequently, depending upon the size of the clot, paralysis on one side may set in. Continued bleeding may lead to loss of life either due to blood loss or due to pressure on the vital parts of the brain. If the trickle is very slow, the pain may appear later.
There is no large time window for this. The ruptured blood vessel continues to bleed and causes the symptoms within few hours. This is a common accident found in foot ball players where after collapsing on the ground, they continued to play football after a short phase of unconsciousness. After completion of the match, these players collapsed and lost their lives.
I do not want to threaten you; however, I thought it is my medical duty to make you aware of the medical teaching, "After any head injury, if there is a transient phase of unconsciousness, suspect intracranial haemorrhage."
Please report to your neurosurgeon to get yourself investigated by X-ray and/or MRI on his/her advice. If no intracranial bleeding is detected, you and I - both will be happy. However, better to err on safer side.
If you get these investigations done, you may please upload the reports and images for my review.
If you wish to have any more information, I am always available for you, XXXX.
