Suggest Remedies For Soreness In Fingers

Question: I had my laptop on the floor and I lifted it up with two fingers and now the tip of my finger is sore. What can I do for it?
Brief Answer:
I have some questions first...
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
How much time has elapsed since this happened?
Is the last joint of the finger involved too (such a swelling or difficulty bending the finger)?
Is there swelling of the tip of the finger or other signs of injury to it?
Do you have diabetes or any ongoing problem that might cause damage to the nerves of fingers?
Thanks - I can provide more specific information when I hear back.

About an hour ago. No to all questions. I just picked up the laptop and my fingertip of my index finger is sore.
Brief Answer:
About your finger
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for this information. Likely the pressure irritated the small nerves of the fingertip and this should improve quickly, such as in a day or two.
I'd recommend avoiding further trauma to it until the soreness resolves. By this I mean avoid using that area of the finger as much as possible.
Consider soaking it a few times a day today in cold water.
You should be better soon. From what you described, I do not think there will be any lasting injury.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.
