
Suggest Remedies For Swelling Behind The Right Leg Big Toe

Question: My son is having swelling behind the right leg big toe dur to krack sole of his shoe for the last 3-4 days[shoes have been replaced now] and he is applying cold pack on it daily 2 times and applying Myolaxin D cream on it but there is not much improvement, though he can walk slowly, can you please reply the following point wise:
1)Reason for having the same
2)Possibility of rupture or something else while playing/running
3)Correct line of treatment
4)How long will it take to recover
5)Precautions.
Please reply urgently.

1-Due to soft tissue injury. 2-)Possibility of rupture of ligaments.3-rest to toe ,strapping of toe ,take pain killer.4-it will take 3-4 wks.5.Precautions of massage and running ,jumping.

X-ray is not needed.
He needs to have an oral antibiotic or apply a local antiseptic ointment like Neosporin. Do apply the ointment twice a day after proper cleaning with savlon.
Do get the area examined by a physician - to rule out infection and need of oral antibiotics. Hot fomentation twice a day will help in decreasing pain and swelling.
