Suggest Remedies For Thyroid Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: Realizing my pain seems to be coming from my thyroid cartilage. It started very dull and mild and ive been touching it all day and now its pretty moderate. I was recently at a roller coaster theme park all day. Could it possibly be bruised or fractured from that? I have no throat pain or discomfort when swallowing just when i touch a small point on the cartilage and push.

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description it appears most likely to be an inflammatory process. Tender and painful thyroid gland can present in dequrvain thyroiditis. For the time being NSAIDS like ibuprofen or naproxen can be advised. If the pain persists despite the NSAIDS then thyroid function tests, ultrasound of the thyroid, complete blood count and ESR can be advised.

please consult your doctor before taking any further course of action

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
