Brief Answer: Timed voiding------------------------------------- Detailed Answer: Welcome to the forum. The following things should help--- 1. Timed voiding - that is passing urine ( if you are) in a timed fashion, say every three to four hours, so that the bladder does not get over distended. Over-distended bladder at your age, where there is an element prostatic obstruction, can lead to retention. 2. Avoid excess intake of plenty of oral fluids at the same time like water, alcohol and carbonated drinks. 3. Avoid agents that can cause diuresis - those that cause more and frequent urination - like coffee, tea and again alcohol. Nothing else comes to my mind. If there is any specific query, kindly feel free to write back. Sincerely.
