Suggest Remedy For Accidental Ingestion Of Double Dose Of Baclofen

Question: I was in the ER last night for stomach problems and they gave me medication that made me sleepy. I came home and went to sleep in my recliner and did not wake up until this morning. I thought it was still the middle of the night and I took my night medications. I soon realized it was morning and adjusted my morning meds so I wouldn't take the same meds that I take at night in the morning, however I missed one. I took my baclofen 20 mg BID both times. Will this cause a reaction and should I take it tonight. I am taking it for extreme cramps due to extreme anemia.
Brief Answer:
Not an excess dose. You can take in the evening if needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
There is nothing to worry. The recommended maintenance dose for Baclofen is 40mg to 80mg per day. You have taken 40 mgs. If you take the evening dose it would add up to 60mg , within the recommended range.
So relax. Hope the problem that made you visit the ER has resolved.
Do get back to me if you have more queries.

Thank you for you response. The problem that sent me to the ER is me taking a high dose of iron and it is not agreeing with me. My MD will have to come up with a solution to that problem when I see him, but for now they had me stop taking the iron. Thank you for your concern.
Brief Answer:
You are welcome
Detailed Answer:
Many people find it difficult tolerating high doses of inorganic iron preparations. Organic iron preparations are better tolerated.
If large amount of iron is required due to very low serum iron concentrations and severe anemia, then parenteral iron therapy is also an option.
I shall be happy to help if you require it anytime in the future.
Wish you good health and a great day.
