Question: I masturbated using shower head two weeks ago. Felt stabbing pain in clitoris and urethral issues after. No UTIs but there was redness so gynaec gave me mild antibiotics and painkillers. Quality of pain has come down but it still hurts when I get aroused and sometimes without any contact. There is a mild ache in my vulva and mild burning sensation. Ultrasound of tissues came back normal. How long will this take to heal?

Brief Answer:
One week, they should heal....provided no re-injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
It is evident that the injury caused probably due to friction after masturbation with shower is in the healing phase now. Usually the clitoral region and vaginal mucousa is very sensitive and hence healing requires absolute abstinence from sex and even masturbation, also tight under garments should be avoided. With these instructions being diligently followed , with antibiotics and pain killers , it should ideally heal in a weeks time provided no repeated injury occurs.

I am not masturbating at all now, its only arpusal from thoughts without touching and when blood flows there it hurts. I'm worried I've caused permanent nerve damage. If nerves are irritated how long will it take to heal. My soft tissues are normal.

Hello.
if there is increased sensitivity inspite of healed tissue then it may take uoto 3 ti 4 weeks in all to redtore itself as neuron myelination takes longer time.
you can take vitamin c tabs to speed up healing thrice a day but under any case re-stimulation and local Irritation should be avoided.

Thank you for your reply doctor. Can I apply cold compresses and virgin olive oil?
Sometimes I cant help it but I get aroused without any manual touching and the blood flow causes pain there. Is that okay for now?

Hello,
Well ye you may apply cold compresses and instead of virgin olive oil ( which can cause irritation) , you may safely use petroleum jelly or popularly known as vaseline locally to provide the needful.
