Suggest Remedy For Acid Reflux And Heartburns
Question: I have been experiencing acid reflux for 3 weeks now. I Always had a bit of heartburn but it would always go away after a carbonated soda. It now has entered into my moulth and it's becoming annoying with a constant sour taste. (however, I'm not getting that burning sensation in my chest) I'm also having soft stools in the morning? Not sure if they are connected??Also, it seems more intense in the morning after having orange juice & coffee & daily vitamins with an empty stomache.
Should I get it checked out by a doctor?? Could it be GERD & IBS?? Coffee really seems to cause my stomache to become upset..

Brief Answer:
Yes, this can be GERD.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Yes, this can be GERD. But worsening the symptoms can also indicate some peptic ulcer or stomach inflammation. Coffee, orange juice, chocolate, fatty foods are known factors increasing stomach acid secretion. So no wonder you get this symptoms after mentioned foods intake.
You should definitely avoid this foods, and especially coffee. You should also consult your doctor. Abdominal ultrasound, blood work and gastroscopy should be done.
Diarrhea does not seem to be associated with stomach issue. But it may be a sign of gallstones. That is why, ultrasound is a good idea.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
