Suggest Remedy For Allergic Reaction To Doxycycline
Question: My 22 year old daughter had congestion so was prescribed doxycyline. She broke out in a rash after day or 2. The doctor took her off of the meds and put her on steroids for 5 days. She just finished her round of those and the rash has persisted and she woke up with a swollen face and throat.
Brief Answer:
Please, upload an image of this rash and face for review!

She has been off of the doxycycline for about a week. Also the rash is not very visible. It is red and splotchy that shows up and goes away. And it makes her skin sensitive. She does have bumps on her tongue near the back of her mouth. I am unable to send a picture as she is out of town with her basketball team.
Brief Answer:
Let’s observe only!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This is not an unexpected reaction. With her health somewhat okay and she being able to assist in her basketball travels, I will suggest we give ourselves time and all will resolve spontaneously. Pushing harder forward might result in aggressive and unnecessary procedures. Stay calm and let’s be patient to to overdo it.
I wish you well and keep me posted if there are any changes on your path.
