Brief Answer:
Acne on torso; tretinoin and benzoyl peroxde would help resolve these

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the Images. These are actually acneform eruptions Or acne.
I suggest you to use a topical tretinoin 0.025% cream, once daily, at night. Tretinoin is comedolytic and would help resolve these.
You may also use a benzoyl peroxide 2.5% gel during day time. Benzoyl peroxiode is antibacterial as well as comedolytic in action.

Brief Answer:
pityrosporum folliculitis is very itchy unlike acne

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Pitryosporum folliculitis is usually very itchy unlike acne. This is an important differentiating point. Otherwise, both of these conditions look very similar to each other.

Are these lesions on your back and shoulders, itchy?

Of course, treating pitryosporum folliculitis with Oral antibiotics like doxycycline- which is commonly used to treat acne- may either show no signs of improvement Or may actually worsen it by allowing unhindered proliferation of fungus i.e malassezia furfur. However, topical antiacne preparations i.e tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide, do not actually worsen P. folliculitis.
