Brief Answer:
Get your thyroid checked!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this chronic constipation that you have reported. I will recommend that you get your TSH levels checked to make sure you are having the appropriate dose of treatment. Chronic constipation is typical of an under treated thyroid gland. In addition to this, fruits, vegetables, fibers, increased fluids and regular physical exercise will help with this as well. Reserve all other medications as last resort.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

Yesterday I asked this follow up question with no reply. I paid for a question and the answer was not satisfactory I am allowed a follow up question. Please answer it
I am in the health industry and eat well and drink enough water. What was the vomiting about? And fever next day?
Yes I will get my TSH checked but is my bowel semi obstructed? Do you feel there could be issue in colon? I have eaten lots of fiber with prunes and brockli soup. No dairy. Could this be an indication of polyps? Or worse?

Brief Answer:
Most constipation is not caused by polyps!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I do not really think you are semi-obstructed at this time. Though polyps do cause constipation, they also present with stools of very low diameter and you didn't report this. Have you had the chance to do a colonoscopy yet/ It is recommended to do one as soon as we tun 50years and then every 10years. If you have never had one, then use this opportunity to get screened as well so that all thoughts about possible colon issues and polyps can be addressed. If you have done colonoscopy before and the findings were okay, then a polyp would not have been able to grow to such tremendous sizes in less than 10years to cause such symptoms of constipations.
I still think we should look at your thyroid and intensify on dietary measures and laxatives whenever necessary. If the fever was just once, then it can very much be explained by a possible food poisoning. Not being repetitive, I will not want to think it was related to any specific infection or signified an ongoing disease process. How high was the temperature?
I hope thee help clarify your worries. I wish you well. Let me know what your immediate thoughts are and whether you have more worries for us to exchange on.

The fever was close to 102 it's a week later and I am still not feeling 100%. Going to get blood work today. As it seems my blood pressure goes very low at times as well. This indeed could be thyroid. Going to get a colonoscopy as soon as I find a doc that will do it with the twilight drug and not general anesthesia I have been very careful what I eat and really upped my fiber. Drinking senna tea at night helped me to move a little. And yes little balls. Only about 6 of them. So continuing the fiber diet and other measures. Thank you for this second answer. I did have a colonoscopy when I was 40. That was 26 years ago so I am due for sure. :)
