Brief Answer:
The variation is appearance is due to non uniform nature of burn injury

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Self harm behavior and causing small burns to your skin is a habit which should be controlled and please prevent more any harm to yourself.

2. Burns from a cigarette and cigar are not uniform over the skin and some of the tissue damage in the burn injury can be superficial while some parts might involve deep layer of skin.

3. Due to the non uniform nature of the burn injury, the healing of the wound might show different stages and this is the reason for variation in appearance.

4. Applying 1% silver sulfadiazine cream is recommended and you are doing it. The wound must also be kept clean.

5. Please do not scratch the scab and blisters else it will lead to infection in the wound and this can delay healing.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
