Suggest Remedy For Constipation In Infant
Question: Hi my babay is just 6 weeks , but she has a problem of bowel movement so much that every 3 to 4 days she strians hard to potty,her stomach also gets tight and then she cries out of pain. As per doctors suggestion I have to put infant suppository Dulcoflex every 3 to 4 days. After that only she has bowel movement . the texture of the pootty is also normal is there any other way of getting her bowel movement normal?
And is using suppository twice a week OK for a 6 week child?

1.There are two possibilities - first thing is congenital cause with partial obstruction.
2.Second possible cause could be the feeding habits - if breast feeding its fine, if the milk is from out side, some times it need to be changed.
3.Using suppository for time being is ok, but never should be a ongoing, as cause need to be evaluated.
4.There are stool softeners which you can get prescribed from the paediatrician after examining the baby.
5.Finally visit your paediatrician and find out cause, get treated accordingly.
