Along with that, I am having tonsillitis issue since childhood which is frequently giving me soar throat and ear block problem. I did consult ENT specialist for this. And the doctor suggested me to take allegra m for 5 days. That didn't work then he asked me to ignore this. but if i am still finding this difficult, then he asked me to go ahead with grommet insertion. Please suggest me if I should go ahead with it or just ignore.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having crackling sound per ear with chronic tonsillitis. I would like to ask you few more details.
Is there any nasal blockage or continous bouts of sneezes or running nose ?
Is there any post nasal drip (nose secretions dripping in to the throat) ?
Kindly get back to me with the details.
Based on your clinical details, it appears to be eustachian tube (tube connecting the middle ear and nose) dysfunction secondary to throat (tonsillitis) infection or chronic sinus infection.
I suggest you to follow these measures to overcome your chronic ENT issues.
1. I would suggest you to undergo hearing test (pure tone audiogram and impedence audiometry) to see the patency of euthacian tube, to measure middle ear pressures and to know the status of ear drum. I also recommend you to do CT scan of para nasal sinuses ( chronic sinus infection is a main culprit for Eustachian tube dysfunction). Treatment can be started as per the findings.
2. As such, chronic tonsillitis causing complications can be managed with tonsillectomy.
3. Kindly discuss with your treating doctor about this investigations and treatment.
Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
