Now his skin is become darker
Can u tell me how can I get my baby's skin fairy ?
Melanin content determines Skin Color; Genetic and Environmental influences determine skin melanin.
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Skin colour is determined by melanin content; the number of melanocytes and constitutive melanin production.
Therefore an individual’s skin colour provides a clue to their ancestry and heritage. e.g Asians have higher melanin content as compared to caucasians.
There can be other factors which can influence melanin content of the skin e.g the amount and type of melanin production varies with age, therefore, newborn babies are usually fairer.
Also, skin exposure to UV radiation in sunlight increases production of melanin and can result in darker coloured skin (tanning response). Repeated exposure to UV radiation can lead to darker skin over time.
In XXXXXXX exposing babies to sun is a major factor leading to darker skin, specially if it is regular. You may cut down on that.
Moreover in XXXXXXX mustard Oil massage together with sun exposure is also one of the causes for darker skin in babies.
Also sunscreens with physical ingredients like zinc oxide can be used on exposed body parts to prevent further sun induced tanning.
Regards
I will suggest you to limit sun exposure; use a Vitamin E based moisturizing cream
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Were you using Mustard Oil?
Do you regularly expose your baby to sun? for how long?
There is no specific massage oil which can turn a dark skin to fair skin in babies. You may use johnsons & Johnsons, body massage oil, before bath.
After bath, you may use a Vitamin E based moisturising skin cream e.g a cold cream (e.g Nivea or Pond's cold cream are available OTC).
Limit sun exposure and discontinue mustard oil application on skin, if you were using it. That would be sufficient.
At 3 months of age, we don't usually advice a sunscreen to a baby. However if desired, only physical sunscreen ingredients like Zinc oxide are considered to be safe in babies.
A physical sunscreen containing 15% Zinc oxide is available on prescription of a dermatologist and is considered to be safe in infants and children. You may use it on all exposed body areas, every 2-3 hours during day time.
Sunscreens which are normally used by adults also contain chemical sunscreen ingredients and are not recommended for infants and children.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Ok. Thank you for clarification. There is no need for a sunscreen if sun exposure is limited.
You may use baby XXXXXXX oil for massage, before bath.
After bath you may use a Vitamin E containing moisturizing cold cream. I think that should produce the desired results.
