I can understand your concern for the rash over the thigh area.

After diligently analyzing your complete query along with your picture I can make out the best possibility of "Irritant/ Contact dermatitis". Let me reassure you at first that it is not at related to any kind clot, lupus, lymphoma or anything serious.

To explain you elaborately about the condition - Due to exposure heat and irritant material the skin gets red and then there can be mild pain sensation or burning sensation. In your case due to hot yoga and lot of jogging the area gets irritated. Synthetic pants can cause more aggravation of the problem.

It is quite possible to get this only on one side due to more friction on one side. So do not get anxious if it is on one side.

In clot or any bruise there is deep redness. In any infection there is deep tenderness and pain along with spread of the rash. In lymphoma or any thing like lupus it is again not the early feature. So just relax for all these grave possibilities!!!

For the betterment kindly follow the suggestions below:

1. Avoid such kind of activities in future.

2. Wear cotton clothes and avoid synthetic clothes.

3. Stay in cool environment(preferably AC) and avoid sweating.

4. Do not Pinch pop or squeeze or rub any area.


For the part of treatment kindly follow the suggestions below:

1. Apply plane cortisone or fluticasone or Mometasone cream in a thin layer in morning and at night time. Apply in a very thin layer so that it should not be visible to naked eye. You can apply it for 7 days and then stop it after that.

2. If there is any irritation or itching is present then can take tablet “Loratadine” or "Deslotatadine" tablet by mouth up to three to four times also if the itching is more.

Lotrimin contains Clotrimazole used in fungal infections. Your condition is not related to any type of fungal infection. So there would not be any benefit of using this cream. Rather ask your pharmacist to give cortisone cream.

I further suggest you to kindly skip jogging for couple of days as it can cause sweating and resultant aggravation of problem.

In case of a clot- there is redness of cherry red color. There is change of color form red to blue then black and later to greenish yellow before its disappearance. This deep redness with color change which persists for around 2 weeks period.

In your case you can not find any such event. So just relax for the possibility of a clot.
