Suggest Remedy For Dry Mouth While On Enbrel

Question: I take Enbrel and the last few months have experienced dry mouth. Sometimes during the day I experience being horse. This is bothersome to me as it affects my singing and speaking voice. Is there something I can do for this. Thank you

Enbrel is associated with pharyngitis. Though dry mouth is not a frequent side effect associated with enbrel it can present in older patients with the use of almost any drug as a side effect. Diabetes, Drug induced, Dehydration, fungal infection (candidiasis ), salivary gland disorder, food allergies and stress can cause a dry mouth.

You should consult good ENT doctor for clinical examination to find the cause behind the hoarseness and dry mouth exactly. Blood sugar (fasting ) and HBA1C levels should be done to rule out diabetes. Try to maintain good oral hygiene. Sugar free chewing gums and artificial salivary spray can help with the dry mouth for now.
