Question: Hello Doc,

In mid sept, i received an oral sex from not my regular partner. I was intoxicated. I drank nearly half to 3/4 of XXXXXXX Walker 750ml bottle myself on that day (never drink that much before). In beginning of oct also, i did fair occassions on masturbation for self relief due to work stress. Late oct, i started having this mild burning sensation on my penis.

I had my 1st urine test on 01/11 for gonor and chlamydia and result came back negative. Did a blood test for hiv, herpes, syphillis and result came back negative. The GP prescribed me with doxy 21tablets for 10days and the symptom persisted.

Did the 2nd urine test again on 11/11 with MCS inclusive, and came back negative.

I went to a diff GP on 16/11 and given cipro 500 14tablets for 7days and didnt help. Went back again on 23/11 and given cipro again 14tablets 7days and currently taking it. The symptom still there though...

I feel that when I took cipro, the symptom is slightly better (than doxy). The sensation comes and go. I also notice if I dont think about the sensation, lay down on bed watching tv, somehow I dont feel it. Being relax i meant...

The burning sensation felt after urination (i am not in pain when urinating) and when I sit. When I walk, no feel on the sensation.

I dont have any discharge, lump or itchiness on my penis nor warts. The GP checked it already as well.

Do you know what my sickness is? What other tests should I take? Prostate exam with urologist?
Full body scan on bladder and kidney? Diabetes test?

I just felt so stupid for the act.....please help.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It's best to carry out certain tests and consult an Urologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr.Help and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i advise you to relax first.
As all STD panel tests are negative, you don't need to worry about that.
What you need to do is the following :
1. consult an Urologist, who'll examine you and the genitalia and do some tests.
2. urine routine and culture test.(though likely to be negative, being on antibiotics).
3. blood routine, sugar, creatinine and LFT.
4. ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis.
According to reports, proper treatment will be advised by the doctor.
Drink 10-12 glasses fluids daily.
Taking a tablet of Phenazopyridine once daily, for 5 days, is very helpful.
It gives a dark yellow- orange discoloration to urine, which lasts till you stop it.
Drinking an alkaliser syrup twice daily, also helps relieve burning sensation.
Many people mix it in lemon juice and find it to be more relieving.
If you've any other doubts, you may contact me with reports.
Wish you well.

Brief Answer:
blood tests not affected by cipro.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
1. You may skip the urine culture for time being.
2. The blood tests are not affected by Cipro.
3. As you didn't have any warts and the doctors didn't find anything like warts on examination, ,HSV test was not advised.
Syphillis test may be repeated, in a months time to confirm.
Hope your apprehensions are over.
Wish you good health.
