Suggest Remedy For Fatigue, Low Sex Drive And Painful Joints After Mirena Insertion Indicate?

Question: Hi, I had the Mirena inserted a little over a year ago. I've had numerous negative side affects such as low sex drive, fatigue, melesma, painful joints and the list goes on. Having it surgically removed next week because it has migrated in to my uterus.
I recently had some blood work done and my DHEAS is low. I don't see the Endo for another month to discuss the results and I was wondering if the Mirena could be the cause of the low DHEAS??

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are not related to Mirena
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns about Mirena and low DHEA .
Following is my reply:
1) Mirena contains progesterone hormone and has not effect on DHEA.
2) Low DHEA, decreased sexual drive and fatigue , melasma arenot related to Mirena ( or misplaced mirena) They are due to endocrinological causes other than progesterone.
3) Anyway you can get Mirena removed and see an endocrinologist for the changes you are undergoing as they need to be evaluated.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.
Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.

Dr. Soumya

Becasue Mirena is releasing a hormone can't it interfer with the natural production of my own hormones????
Brief Answer:
Mirena does not interfere with your hormones production
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Mirena releasing small amount of progesterone does not interfere with your natural production of hormones. Definitely not DHEA as it is unrelated.
