Suggest Remedy For Fluctuations In Platelet Count When Diagnosed With Dengue Fever

Platelet count more than 20-30000 is considered to be normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
I can understand your concern.
In a normal person the platelet count should be more tha 100000/cmm.
Falling platelet count is a characteristic of dengue fever.
In dengue fever platelet count upto 20-30000 is considered to be non problematic unless there is bleeding and does not need any specific treatment.
If managed properly in most of the cases platelet usually stops falling after one week.
I would like to know about the other symptoms like body swelling, decreased urinary output, vomiting, pain abdomen, black colored stool or red colored urine.
The main aim of management in dengue fever is to prevent dehydration or over hydration.
Please also tell me the hemoglobin and hematocrit /PCV values so that I better able to help you out.
I won't get overly worried for this fall in platelet count if child's condition is stable and there are no other warning signs.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your baby's speedy recovery.
Regards

PCV of 43 and Hb 12 is acceptable
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up
Mild inactiveness with PCV of 43 and hemoglobin of 12 is acceptable if there is no other significant symptoms like generalised swelling, rashes, severe pain abdomen and decreased urine output.
Usually the PCV is three times of hemoglobin.
Here PCV is 43 and Hb 12 (more than 3 times,36).This indicates that there is some leakage of fluid causing this discripency (raised PCV). But PCV of 45 is acceptable as there are no other symptoms.
Follow up with platelet count and PCV would be needed here.
I shall be glad to answer if you have any more doubts.
Regards
