Brief Answer:
It needs to be investigated .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your wife has hematuria and was advised 24 hours urinary excretion of proteins (232.5).

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Does she have any urinary symptoms like burning ,increased frequency ,pain in abdomen etc associated with hematuria .?
2) Does she have fever ?

The normal urinary excretion of protein in urine is below 100 gms .Since the value of your wife is more than 225 gm it needs to be investigated further to find out the cause of proteinuria

The cause of proteinuria in young adults can be due to either paranchymal kidney disease or infection and needs to be investigated thoroughly with series of tests .

Please consult qualified Urologist /Nephrologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Renal function tests to assess the kidney function

Further test ( if required) will be decided by them depending upon the results of these test .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
