Suggest Remedy For Intermittent Pain In Foot And Ankle

Question: Yes, Please!
I was awakened last night with shooting pain from the ball of my left foot up the inside of my foot to my upper ankle. the pain is not persistent. The shooting pain occurs when I am laying down or sitting and is not continuous happens approximately every 5 minutes. If I am standing with my weight on my left leg I do experience the pain.
Any ideas what is causing it and what I should do to ease it or make it stop. Thank You
