Question: I'm female, I had an itch around my urethra and I scratched it and saw discharge. I took an at home test and it said positive for leukocytes negative for nitrates. I'm calling my gp tomorrow, but to ease my anxiety tonight, is it a uti? I don't have painful urination, just an itchy sensation at all times.

Brief Answer:
Most likely UTI

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Yes it is most likely urinary infection which can be present despite of symptoms and is common in females due to short length of urethera and vicinity with vagina.
So get a urine culture done too and till then take a lot of water and fresh fruits for proper hydration of the body.
Keep the local area clean and use cotton based undergarments always.
Take care.
