Question: I have used soap for cleaning penis before few days,Now i feel some itching at my penis.

1. Soap is a chemical irritant and contains alkali agents. This can cause damage to sensitive skin present over the head of penis and its opening.
2. It is possible that washing thoroughly with soap has caused slight irritation of the skin over penis.
3. Please do not touch the itchy area over penis. Wash your penis with warm water twice daily and then wipe it completely dry. Then you apply little calamine lotion over the itching skin and let it dry. Doing this for a 10 days will get you relief. It is available in medical shops. Please do not apply it inside the urinary opening.
4. Wear loose cotton inner clothes.
5. Never use the same soap to clean penis again. Please use plenty of water and mild soap.
6. If your symptoms persist even after a week or get worse then consult a dermatologist for prescription of steroid cream.
