Suggest Remedy For Lip Swelling And Dryness

Question: I had an allergic reaction to something I ate. My lips swelled and then they started becoming very dry. This cycle has been repeating itself. I went to one Dr. and they suggested Benydryl, I went to another Dr. and she gave me hydrocortisone cream (1%). I even ripped the dry parts of my top and lower lip.
I have never had any cold sores. My lips do not look as bad as they feel. Please e mail me if you need any pictures but I would like to know the best way to resolve this problem. I love spicy food and I feel like I cannot eat anything right now because every time I eat the swelling starts and the cycle continues.

I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of food allergy is more in your case.
So better to get done food allergy testing once this episode is over.
At present drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
Avoid spicy and sour food.
Start combination of antihistamine (fexofenadine or levocetrizine) and anti allergic (montelukast) drugs.
Also apply steroid cream.
