Suggest Remedy For Medicine Stuck In Throat
Question: Hi,
I took an ampicillin 500 mg white coated capsule this morning for my bronchitis, as I did twice yesterday, but it feels like it's stuck in my throat. I have tried water, warm liquid, even a bite of bread and it still feels stuck. I can breathe, but I hate this feeling. What can I do? Will it eventually dissolve?

Brief Answer:
It is more of a sensation and it will go away!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this sensation. I understand how discomforting this is and the need to get it addressed. It will eventually go away and there will be no long term effects. The only inconvenience is that this is happening right now. Time is the only solution.
When taking this drug, try to swallow gently and not very fast. Also, you can take this with meals so as to avoid this sensation. However, it will give way sooner than you may have imagined.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
