Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the consultation at my virtual clinic!
I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns today and will put my best efforts to get you out of this situation.
Pain in neck in the absence of throat infection, lymph nodal swelling or any history of an obvious injury is due usually to the muscular spasms. It needs proper treatment.
Medication guide:-
*You need to apply Bengay Ultrastretch Ointment and massage it gently. Then apply heat Pad to the affected area.
*Take Ibuprofen; and, Tizanidine (zanaflex) for pain and to give relief to muscles of the neck.
*Apply ThermaCare HeatWraps on the neck for soothing effects.
Take plenty of water. Keep a balanced healthy diet and avoid excessive movements. Don't keep neck in a fixed single posture for longer times as in watching TV or using Laptop/Computer.
If you feel nothing is working anymore for you; you then need to consult an Orthopedist for proper evaluation and diagnosis through an MRI of the cervical spine. In these cases pain instead of being muscular in origin, if from underlying disease of the cervical spine and causes may be:-
Degenerative disease of the spinal vertebrae and the intervertebral discs.
Herniation of the spinal intervertebral discs.
Bony spurs that pinch on the spinal cord and the nerves that supply neck and upper limbs.
If there will be the cause associated to the cervical spine area, your Orthopedist may go for the Surgical treatments like Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF).
